For Josh Vitek, construction isn't just a career — it's a way of life. Long before he officially took over Vitek Construction, Josh was learning the trade alongside his father, Robert Vitek. Raised by Robert as a single father, Josh spent nearly every summer working by his dad's side. Those early years weren't just about learning how to swing a hammer or read a tape measure; they were about learning the values that would shape his future — hard work, honesty, accountability, and treating people right.

One of Josh's earliest memories in construction was the first roofing job his dad trusted him to complete on his own when he was just 15 years old. It was a defining moment that showed Robert's confidence in his son and helped build the foundation for the contractor Josh would become.

While Josh pursued a successful baseball career, construction was always in his blood. When his baseball days came to an end, there was never any question about what came next. Construction was all he had ever known, and he was ready to continue the family legacy.

Like many fathers and sons who share a passion for their work, Josh and Robert occasionally butted heads over who was right or who knew more. But anyone who knows them knows those disagreements never lasted long. Five minutes later, it was as if nothing had happened. Their mutual respect and love for each other always outweighed any differences of opinion.

In 2019, Robert officially handed the business over to Josh, placing his full trust in his son's abilities and leadership. Today, Josh continues to lead Vitek Construction with the same principles his father established decades ago.

One of the things that makes Vitek Construction special is the loyalty and experience of its crew. Many of the same team members who worked alongside Robert continue to work with Josh today. Crew members like Buddha, Kevin, Bryan, and Jason helped build the company's reputation and understand exactly what is expected on every project. They share the same commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and customer satisfaction that has always defined the Vitek name.

Over the years, Vitek Construction has been honored to restore many of the historic homes that help make Fayetteville such a special place. Preserving the character and history of these properties has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the work.

The company is also deeply grateful for the wonderful clients who have trusted them with their homes and projects through the years. Their support has allowed Vitek Construction to continue doing what they love while giving back to the community that has supported them for generations.

Although Robert passed away in November, his presence is still felt on every job site and in every project the company completes. The lessons he taught, the standards he set, and the values he lived by continue to guide the business every day. For Josh and the crew, honoring Robert's legacy means continuing to do things the way he taught them — working hard, treating people right, and never compromising on quality.
